Saturday we took the dogs for their usual walk which involves walking around our neighborhood high school. When we came to the spot where we walk through the parking lot we found they had blocked off part of it from vehicles. Both Fred and Gloria just stared at these curbs, like WTF? When your only 6 inches off the ground this can be considered an obstacle. Immediately I thought, "hurdle!".
And so, their agility training began.
Freddie went first.
He got a little sidetracked by the paper coffee cup on the ground, but he did it!
Then it was Glorias turn.
She didn't even break a sweat!
There was a taller curb over to the side so I thought we'd give that a try. Tension was high. Freddie went first again.
Yes, YES! He's made it!!
Did you see that! He almost did a full jump!
We held our breath as Gloria took a little more coaxing for this one.
I was just so proud of my babies! We then had to head straight home to get them some much needed rest and refreshments.
They were both pretty pooped.
Now I know it was one small step (literally) in agility training, but at least it's a start. This week I will be attempting to get them climb over each one twice! Keep your fingers crossed!!
